Take Note Chamber Choir, friendly local choir, Lambeth
Take Note Chamber Choir is a small friendly choir based in the heart of Lambeth.
The choir meet every Wednesday from 7pm - 8:30pm. Our rehearsal venue is the Three Stags Pub, upstairs gallery space.
We sing a mixture of light and classical repertoire and new members are always welcome. We work with Matthew Jelf, our conductor and Mike Williams, our accompanist and deputy conductor. Beginners as well as more experienced singers are very welcome to come along. If you can't read music, don't worry! Give us a go and we're sure you'll keep coming back. The choir usually enjoy a drink together afterwards in the pub itself so why not come for a trial rehearsal and meet the group.
Matthew, our conductor, is a freelance conductor living locally in Camberwell. Matthew is Music Director of Shalford Choral Society (Guildford), the News International Choir (Wapping), Take Note Chamber Choir (Lambeth), the Reading Gay Chorus and Deputy Music Director of the London Gay Men's Chorus, Europe's largest male voice ensemble. Matthew worked as a Choral Animateur in Kent for Rochester Cathedral's Chorister Outreach Programme and currently works as a Vocal Animateur, teaching singing to primary school children for Bedfordshire Music Service. Other work includes cathedral deputy works with Southwark and Rochester Cathedral, Chapel Royal Hampton Court, All Saint's Margaret Street, St Martin in the Fields, Chelsea Old Church, as well as choral and solo engagements at venues including Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Blackheath Halls, the Colston Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and St Alfege's, Greenwich. Matthew sings with the Blossom Street Singers, a professional octet and teaches singing on a private basis. For further details, please visit www.mattjelf.com or www.blossomstreetsingers.com
